Ah, so you want to know about GHOSTS, do you? Well, let me tell you a thing or two.
A ghost, simply put, is the psychic imprint of a wizard or witch left upon the world after their death. Whether or not they are the actual spirits of their mortal selves left to linger for all of time has been open to some debate, but it has been well established that these imprints are left when the deceased has either been overly afraid of dying, the victim of severe trauma, or simply has strong ties to the location they now haunt.
When you get down to it, though, there’s really not much to ghosts. They have presence, and a voice, and that’s about it. Their forms are completely insubstantial, silver grey, weightless for freedom of movement, and are unable to touch, move or manipulate anything around them. In fact the most they can do is give you a shiver or chill your beer when they pass right through it like flour through a sieve. This leaves them bored a great deal of the time and as a result they are prone to spying and gossiping, though they are more well known for howling and taking people by surprise.
Other than their physical composition ghosts are a lot like any of us with all too human thoughts, feelings and desires, however many do not manage to evolve in temperament. Their nature is not mysterious, being unable to pass through the veil gives them no great insights into the afterlife: in fact the only truly unique custom of ghosts is the celebration of their ‘deathday’, marking annually their transition to a state imitating life.
