In addition to the played characters on the board, there are a handful of characters that are well-known in the Narrie area that are not played on a permanent basis. If your character frequents Narragyambie, it's likely they know/have interacted with these NPCs.
You are free to include these characters in any posts that it would make sense for them to appear in, and have them interacting with your characters as required.
|Phil was a competent enough wizard, but his true passion was always food.
After completing schooling at Tallygarunga, he took on an apprenticeship under a chef in another town. He returned to Narrie in the early 1990s to be closer to his family.
There, he took on his first job as a fully-fledged chef in charge at The Drunken Roo. Phil is largely known as "the big guy with the sour face" and almost always looks like someone pooped in his cereal. Phil has stepped up to manage the Roo full-time while the primary owner and manager (Matthew Belmont) has been incapacitated.
|Full name: Phillip George Davenport
Age: 55 (b. 1962)
Education: Tallygarunga graduate (Class of 1980, Bourke)
Frequents: The Drunken Roo (Manager)
Played By:John Carroll Lynch
|Mish is another long-time employee of The Drunken Roo. She was employed after being kicked out of Penrose in her final year and disowned by her parents.
All because she preferred girls to men, and her conservative family couldn't handle that. Mish has no contact with her blood relatives, and much prefers the company of her work family and their patrons. She's an excellent bartender, and wishes that the clientele would order items more interesting than just beer.
She's often described as "angry", but claims that's because of "stupid people". Mish doesn't take crap and makes sure people know when she's not impressed. Calling her "Michelle" is a one-way ticket into her bad books, but if you do the right thing by Mish, she looks after her own.
|Full name: Michelle Celia Vaughn
Age: 36 (b. 1981)
Education: Penrose drop-out
Frequents: The Drunken Roo (Bartender)

|Madge is a household name in Narrie. She's practically part of the furniture at the local post office (which does include an aviary out back for bird mail), having worked there for almost fifty years. Though she's now retired, Madge still spends most of her days hanging by the counter, swapping gossip.
There's very little that happens in Narrie that Madge doesn't know about, and doesn't pass along to the next person she sees. She's a sweet enough old woman, just don't go telling her your secrets.
|Full name: Margaret Anne Kennerley
Age: 93 (b. 1924)
Education: Tallygarunga graduate (Class of 1942, Sturt)
Frequents: Narrie Post Office (Retired)
Played By: Betty White
|Joe is the squib son of Noelle Kempsey, for whom "Mrs Kempsey's Corner Store"
was named. His mother ran the shop until her death in 2013. Joe has always been a familiar face in the store, some of his mother's friends still refer to him as "Little Joey". He's popular with young children especially, as they know that he'll quite willingly give out free lollies for kids with good manners. He also makes an excellent milk shake.
Like his mother, Joe has spent a lot of his life outside of the store fighting any plans chain supermarkets have to move into Narrie. He knows that he can't compete with the giants and he doesn't want to let his late mother down.
|Full name: Joseph Andre Kempsey
Age: 45 (b. 1972)
Education: Murrigal District High School
Frequents: Mrs Kempsey's Corner Store (Owner)

|Bill Mackey is the recluse that adults threaten their kids with, muggle and magical alike. He lives in a run-down shack in the Murrigal bushlands, between Narrie and Tallygarunga, where power and running water are unavailable. He was never successful in school, and sought a military career from the day that he could enlist.
When he returned from his last deployment, Bill settled down to a wife and family, but never really integrated back into society well. In the early 60s it is said that he snapped, leaving his family to be on his own in the bush. Bill goes out of his way to discourage company, setting traps and warning signs anywhere near his shack. On the rare occasion he trips into town for supplies, he is avoided.
|Full name:William Edward Mackey
