So you've got your first character registered on Tallygarunga! How cool! By this point, you've probably already introduced yourself and had a bit of a chat in the CBox at the bottom of the page. We're so excited to have you!A little bit of paperwork
But joining a new community can be overwhelming too, so here are some things you can do to get yourself properly settled here.
Paperwork is never huge amounts of fun, but it helps us to keep our lists nice and organised. That way, there's no confusion as to what positions are available or face claims are open! You can help us out by:Get chatty
Adding yourself to the Current Memberlist. Ensuring your character is listed on Positions Available or Enrolled Students where applicable. Ensuring that your Face Claim has been properly listed.
We have an amazing, and very talkative!, community here at Tally. We'd love you to be part of it! There are three main ways that we communicate OOC.Get threading!
Our Discord is a wonderful way to keep in contact when you're not able to be on the board itself. We have channels for different discussions, plotting, thread announcements and more! The CBox can be found at the bottom of every page, and is fantastic for talking to others browsing the site right now. Our OOC Cafe forums are a great place to unwind and play a few silly forum games.
Ready to really dive in? Brilliant! Here are some ways to kick-start your in-character life here at Tally.Get more awesome
Pick up an open thread! An open thread essentially means that the original poster didn't have anyone in mind when they created it---so if it makes sense for your character to be there, you're welcome to reply! You can find links to open threads in the Open Thread topic, or via the Discord channel. Start an open thread! Don't forget to add it to the open thread list, and post the link in Discord so we know it's there! Get some plotting and relationships happening! How you use this forum is entirely up to you, but it's a great place to brainstorm ideas with other players and work out where your character fits in the grand scheme of things. Set up a thread tracker to follow your stories. Excellent if you're notorious for forgetting your own threads!
Remember: you can start applying for new characters whenever you're ready. We have no set limit, so long as you can manage what you take on!
If you have any questions or need any help, the staff are always here to help. We're so glad to have you on board, and can't wait to see you and your character making your mark on Tally!
