Tallygarunga acknowledges the events of the books written by J. K. Rowling, following the adventures of Harry Potter. We also acknowledge the events of the movies, and other literature set in Rowling's wizarding world.Effects of the HP series
During Harry's years at Hogwarts, the menace that was Voldemort and the subsequent Battle of Hogwarts, Australian wizarding society largely continued on as normal. Although a terrible ordeal in the UK, Voldemort did not pose an active threat to Australia.
Australian wizarding authorities were monitoring the situation closely, and it was a tense time, but Voldemort was defeated before he could really impact on Australian wizarding life.
Some Australian wizards were sent to help with the threat, as part of Australia's commonwealth responsibilities to the UK. The number was small, and most were involved in evacuating and protecting rather than direct combat.
Australia was also a common country of escape for wizards who needed to get out of the UK. It's very unlikely, however, that descendants or characters from the books would be found at Tallygarunga or the area surrounding it.
